Karl working as an economist, and Nils working as a janitor for the same company, both end up getting fired at the same day. Karl's wife leaves him, and Nils, having no other place to live, moves in. Later on, Henry comes knocking at the door, and saves Karl from getting thrown out from his own home.
Karl is working on his tax return, and together with Henry he gets an idea how he can get back at his former boss. Henry buys an answering machine, which Nils doesn't really understand how works, as he seems to believe there is a person sitting inside it.
Henry and the two others start giving medical advice over the phone, but things tend to get out of control. Karl meets Målfrid, but bails out before the date.
Henry gets a surprise visit from an unkown relative from America. He is also asked to watch over the rich neighbour's house and car while he is away. Henry finds this really convenient, as he is trying to impress his grandchild. Nils attends a school to learn to become more self-confident.
The neighbor, Kristine, comes over and tells them that she is being forced to sell her house on foreclosure. Karl and his friends decide to set up a charity concert to save the house.
Nils is asked to watch over the neighbour Fredrik's premium dog, Zico. Karl is not very happy with this, as he is scared of dogs. Karl is going on a date with Målfrid.
Karl is bothered by the fact that he's spending the easter holidays at home, instead of going skiing and getting a tan. He gets very jealous when he learns that Nils has managed to borrow a cabin up in the mountains, and threatens to throw him out of the house if he gets a better tan than himself. This way, Karl is permitted to borrow the cabin from Nils, unaware that Elna is planning to visit Nils in the hut.
Henry is admitted to the hospital for a thorough medical check. Karl is curious of what Målfrid really is doing at the hospital among so many men. Nils becomes addicted to sex.
Nils and Henry illegally connects to the neighbour's TV channels. Henry discovers that TV signals can be broadcast both ways, and together with the two other guys they start up their own TV channel in the garage.
Nils attends a dancing school, and Henry is supposed to teach him. The neighbour, Fredrik, is arranging a carnival. Karl and Målfrid dresses up as Eli and Carl I. Hagen.
Nils watches pro boxing on TV, and gets totally addicted. After having a few lessons of boxing, his self confidence skyrockets, and Karl and Henry decide to do something about it.
Målfrid wants Karl to come with her on vacation to Crete, but Karl is scared of flying. Nils is going to be toastmaster in a birthday party for his aunt Nusse turning 80.
Karl starts working as a consultant, and one of his first jobs is fixing the economy in a firm named Jubalong & Sons, selling novelties. Nils is taking care of the poodle of the woman in number 14.
Karl has been assigned a task to spice up the local newspaper. Nils has been visiting the neighbour Fredrik, calling phone sex lines. Henry decides to arrange a real meeting for Nils with a girl.
The guys are looking forward to celebrating christmas, and Karl learns that Nils' mother will come visit them on christmas eve. Nils takes a sneak peak at the presents Karl has bought.
Christmas is coming up. Elna gets so drunk she needs to be carried to bed, something she's not too happy with the following day. On Christmas Eve, she decides to leave and go home, but changes her mind because of Målfrid.
Karl decides to start with waste sorting. Nils thinks Henry has become psychic when he predicts all the numbers in the lottery, without purchasing a lottery ticket.
Karl becomes addicted to healthfood, and insist on eating vegetables only. Nils has an appointment with the doctor, but is taken aback when he learns that the doctor is a woman.
Henry starts working as a TV critic. Karl is injured in a traffic accident and ends up with a whiplash injury. He also pretends that he suffers from memory loss.
Henry tricks Nils and Karl into thinking he's made them dinner. Karl is unable to sleep because of the dripping tap in the kitchen. Karl also gets problems with his blood pressure, and Nils and Henry tries to make him angry.
Henry is acting weird. He's treats the two others to expensive dinners, and keeps buying expensive things. Meanwhile, Karl and Nils hears on the radio that there's been a chain of post office robberies in their area, where the description of the robber matches perfectly with Henry's vest and yellow slippers.
Målfrid says Karl got seasick from the waterbed. Nils is excited Målfrid is moving in, so he no longer has to clean and vacuum. Nils and Henry are helping with the renovation of the bedroom. Elna comes over, and is not too happy with Karl's behavior.
Karl and Målfrid are quarreling again, because Målfrid didn't wake Karl up in time. Nils finds out that Henry is scared of the dentist. Nils and Karl goes camping.
Nils watches skydiving on TV, and Karl tells him that he did a lot of parachuting when he was in the military. Nils signs up for a skydiving club, and tricks Henry into thinking he's a master of crosswords.
Karl want's a moment of peace, but Nils is being noisy. Nils decides to get a hobby. Henry is in the middle of changing between retirement courses, and Karl starts golfing in the living room. Nils gets a hobby as a magician.
Nils has a sore throat, and Henry has problems with his back. Karl is worried that Målfrid is shopping way too many clothes, and only works night shifts. Nils is blown away when Målfrid comes home wearing hotpants and boots.
Nils is solving crosswords, and Henry starts getting trouble with his hearing. Nils does everything he can to help. Karl goes on a business trip to Copenhagen, and is forced to take the night train back home. Unfortunately he has to share his sleeping compartment with an annoying guy.
Nils is making a home video with Karl getting angry, and Målfrid tells him that Karl got mad and rude at a restaurant the night before. Henry is robbed of his pension, gets beat up and ends up with a concussion.
